GCU strives to keep tuition costs competitive so that a private, Christian education is within reach for all students. GCU offers you three convenient learning options: a traditional campus environment, evening classes and online degree programs. GCU also offers a variety of scholarship programs for all students to reduce the cost of furthering your education if certain criteria are met. In addition, we offer members of the military reduced tuition amounts for online programs.

 

GCU On-Campus Tuition and Costs for 2020-21

On-campus students pay an average of $7,700 for room and board and $1,600 in additional fees. Individual courses cost $687.50 per credit. GCU is committed to providing an affordable education for all. Our tuition rate for in-state and out-of-state traditional campus students is $16,500, with the average on-campus GCU student paying just $8,600,* which is comparable to many state universities and well below other private schools. Our pledge to affordable education can be seen in our decision to freeze campus tuition for 12 consecutive years. Other costs that may affect your final total include book fees, room and board and class fees. GCU offers various scholarships for campus and online students 鈥 which may help your costs become even more affordable. *Average tuition after scholarships is approximately $8,600. Scholarships may be awarded based on 6th semester transcripts. At the time in which final, official transcripts are received, GCU reserves the right to rescind or modify the scholarship if it is determined that eligibility was not achieved. GCU reserves the right to decline scholarship awards for any reason. If a student does not meet the minimum renewal criteria, their scholarship will be forfeited. GCU reserves the right to change scholarship awards at any time without notice. If a student does not meet the minimum renewal criteria, their scholarship will be forfeited. Prices based on the 2019-20 rate and are subject to change.

The tuition rate for GCU鈥檚 online classes depend on your program of study. For undergraduate online programs, tuition rates range from $395 to $470 per credit. For graduate online programs, per-credit tuition rates range from $365 to $695, while doctoral programs are $670 per credit. For each degree level, there is a reduced tuition rate for active duty and active reserve military members. Tuition for GCU鈥檚 RN to BSN program, available online and during the evening, is $470 per credit. There is also a course material fee of $120* which covers simulations content, multimedia content and eBooks, amongst other supplies. High School Dual Enrollment through GCU

If you are a high school student, dual enrollment courses allow you the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school.

  • Dual enrollment courses are four credits
  • $210 per course ($52.50 per credit)

  • Additional textbook fees may apply

Military

If you are currently serving in the military and are able to utilize military educational benefits, GCU offers a special military rate per credit hour to you and your spouse. GCU also offers a special scholarship to all veterans and their spouses, and employees of the DOD, DPHS and NOAA. GCU is a proud participant in the Yellow Ribbon Program.

How to Read Your Financial Estimate

Each spring, colleges around the country send prospective聽on-campus students a financial estimate to show them what it will cost to attend their institution. While the contents may seem overwhelming, we will work with you so you can fully understand your financial estimate.

1098-T Tax Information for Students

Annually, the IRS requires educational institutions to complete Form 1098-T for any students that have made payments for qualified tuition and related expenses and/or have scholarships and grants posted to their student account. The information contained on form 1098-T is delivered to both the student and the IRS no later than Jan.聽31 for the prior year鈥檚 activity. The information contained on the 1098-T can be used when completing your tax return.
