Dual Enrollment Courses Offered Both Online and on GCU鈥檚 Campus

Online dual enrollment classes are seven or 15 weeks and offer high school students the flexibility and convenience to start earning college credits toward their degree, among many other benefits.聽

Through the Learning Management System, GCU鈥檚 online classroom, interactive forums allow students to network with their peers and professors and to collaborate on projects and assignments.

High schools and homeschool co-ops can create a custom 15-week online cohort modality program to give students a head start on earning their college degree, as opposed to our standard seven-week online courses. This allows your students to get used to the academic rigor of college coursework while still in the comfort of their current semester-based system.

Choose from any of our seven-week courses and build your own dual enrollment program based on your school鈥檚 needs and schedule, as well as your student鈥檚 interests. You鈥檒l work directly with GCU鈥檚 dual enrollment team to create your custom cohort program based on your desired courses, start dates and any school-specific breaks needed during the course (for example, spring break or a missions trip).

Benefits of Dual Enrollment for Students

Students who take advantage of dual enrollment courses offered by GCU get into their area of study faster once they reach college and have the opportunity to complete their degree in as little as three years.

GCU鈥檚 dual enrollment opportunity offers the potential for significant cost savings in the long run by offering discounted tuition rates for dual enrollment courses. All courses are $52.50 per credit* and students can earn up to 60 college credits while still in high school.

Registration is typically completed in under 10 days, guided by a counselor who specializes in helping dual enrollment students like you create individualized pathways toward their intended areas of study.

Dual enrollment students earning college credit while still in high school experience the same level of instruction and academic rigor as our traditional college students. This way, students will be prepared to succeed at the next academic level of study when they enter college.

Student Qualifications

GCU Dual Enrollment Courses are available to high school juniors and seniors with an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or above, and high school sophomores with an unweighted GPA of 3.25 or above.聽

All students are subject to GCU course prerequisites and course policies, which may include online placement tests.

About Dual Enrollment Instructors

Dual enrollment instructors deliver content that incorporates best practices in teaching, technology, classroom engagement, ethics and more in a specific area. GCU and instructors collaborate to provide academic support, curriculum approval and monitoring of the course effectiveness for all high school and homeschool students.

All instructors are required to have a master鈥檚 degree or higher in the content area, or a master鈥檚 degree with 18 graduate hours (500+) in the content area.聽

Their expertise qualifications are set and approved by the GCU colleges, and instructors receive ongoing training, support and professional development.
