Hasbro RC BB-8 Found at Kmart

While browsing the toy section at Kmart I came across two RC BB-8s. This was normally a Target exclusive and found it odd to see it at my local Kmart (which is in the early stages of closing). As of this posting it was marked down to $52.49 which is not too bad but of course it will go lower depending on who is good at playing the waiting game. Was it a timed exclusive for Target? or maybe Hasbro over estimated the demand and had lots of inventory left over. Be sure to check your Kmart (if you still have one or close to being gone) if you have been waiting to pick this RC BB-8 up.

Update: Thanks Corey & Astro Collector for letting me know Walmart is also carrying the RC BB-8.

Star Wars The Black Series Astromech Droid 3-Pack (Red Squadron) is starting to hit door steps and this set does not disappoint. Collectors were givin the chance to purchase it at SDCC 2016 and ToyRus (Currently Sold Out). This set focuses on Red Squadron Astromechs from Star Wars : A New Hope. The Astromechs provided are R2-A3, R5-K6 & R2-F2 and in my opinion Hasbro did a great job with this set and if you want to see more just click on my review posted below. R2-D2 (Jabba's Skiff) Smuggler's Bounty Exclusive Review

Astromech Droid Six Pack Drama & My Thoughts

Entertainment Earth revealed the Astromech set this week causing a big debate in the collecting community. This set is a win situation for me because I love Astromechs and this is what my site and Youtube is based around. Some paint applications are missing and the scale might be off but in the end this is not an issue because I am grateful that Hasbro and E.E. got together to bring this set to collectors. Sets like this do not come around often and it sucks people have to bash it like crazy because it is not to their standards or they had dreams of other characters that could have been brought to life in action figure form.

In the end people need to get over the idea of having a perfect scale or painted figure because these are action figures! Look back to when you were a child and got your first action figure, did you care if Luke looked like Mark Hamill? No, most likely not because it was all about the action figure and recreating scenes from the movie or making your own adventure. Action figures in this scale to me are never going to be perfect and I can accept that and not get all pissy when a line isn't painted or the color is slightly off. If you want almost perfect accuracy then 3.75" scale is not for you and you should probably start investing in Hot Toys.

I agree the description before the reveal can be misleading, the astromechs are using a great mold from the vintage collection and the articulation is great for astromech standards. I was actually surprised to see all astromechs because I was thinking it was only going to have one or two in the set of figures, once I found out this set was all astromechs my smile was stretching from ear to ear and I was hit by a wave of emotions on why I love collecting. This is what the hobby is all about, enjoying yourself and connecting with the passion of collecting without taking it too seriously. I hope in the end people pick this set up and learn to love it as their collection grows and not dwell on the bullshit. It just sucks the community focuses on the dumbest little shit and starts a lets bash Hasbro wagon, which is another topic I don't want to get into right now.

All I can say is that this set looks amazing and it is awesome to get some great clone wars astromechs and a couple OT sprinkled in. The box is so unique and it will stand out in the collection. This is my opinion on the astromech set and I don't really care what anyone thinks because I collect for myself and do not collect for others.

Mystery Astromech?

Thanks to my buddy at Yakface.com. Images are hitting around of a new Astromech, someone was told it is labeled as Black Series but if you look into the scuplt that is not the case. First is the legs, Disney Droids are the only molds that don't use wires on the feet which was introduced last year. Second is the dome, Disney droids don't have antennas on the dome.  I am curious to find out more about this mystery astromech and probably add him to my collection. I will update when more comes to light about this maybe possible Disney Park Astromech.

Droid Factory / Build a Droid Needs To Return

Let your voices be heard! I would love to see the Droid Factory return and not just be exclusive to Disney Parks. Don't get me wrong Disney has made a lot of great Astromechs available for all of us fans and collectors over the last few years, but it's a shame we are not getting the love in the main lines we see at retail. The Star Wars galaxy is full of unreleased and out dated sculpt Astromechs. JTA has posted an article on why the Droid Factory needs to return and I totally agree! I will probably make a video about this voicing my two cents and I encourage everyone to do the same. Below is the link to the article and let Hasbro know that this line works at retail and that there is great love for Astromechs and tell them what droid you would love to see!

BB-8 Powered by Hot Toys

While catching up on social media this morning, Star Wars Action News posted a link on their Facebook page that leads to a video that showcases the Hot Toys BB-8 in action! It is stunningly detailed and features a head that will always stay upright with the newly developed self-balancing spherical body. Below is the video showing it in action and I am very impressed.
